![]() ![]() Having it in sections helps with the ability to do maintenance. The 2" pieces fit together snugly, but can separated. ![]() I then have 2 sections of 2" PVC, each 5' long, with a 2" PVC connector between them, but NO GLUE, that slip over the top of the 1.25" pole. This is used as an additional, internal stabilizer for the 2" PVC pipe. What I've done is driven a 1.25" PVC pipe ' into the ground vertically a few feet, with about 4-5 feet above ground. 2" is a LOT less flexible, therefore a much better choice for something that you want to stay level. I tried both 1.25" and 1.5", but both flexed and bowed too much in a breeze. I also have a different antenna (for recieving weather satellites images via SDR) on a 2" x 10' PVC pole out in my yard. I have my sensor array mounted on an adjustable height, metal antenna pole about 25 feet from the console. I know that most folks do WU and others, I just don't. It tells me what I want to know, when I want to know it. I ONLY upload to the Ambient Weather site. If it gets adjusted or bumped in either direction, it's unreadable to one of us. Pointed straight between us, it's ok for both of us. It's on a table between where my wife sits and where I sit. The viewing angle of the console is a definite issue. I don't know anything about RTL433 or weewx. I've had no wifi issues, either between the sensor array and console, or between the Console and my wifi. I have a WS2902b, I've had it since August, 2020. I know, people complain about everything so it's hard to separate the wheat from the chaff.įor installation, I located a place in my backyard that follows the "4-1" rule (4x distance to the highest point, not the ideal 10x-1), but it will require it to be mounted in a 1 1/2 or 2" PVC/ABS pole (which I prefer, since I won't have to deal with grounding issues).Īny ideas and recommendations are welcome. Lots and lots of people complaining about the app required for the setup and WiFi issues. I don't know if I'd be able to export this data to WU and other weather station aggregators, and what would be required. Mine will be mounted on the wall, inside the house.ĭoes not appear to be compatible with weewx. There's a lot of complaints about the display (any change in angle makes it unreadable). In my case, the station won't be that far from the receiver, but some people complain about problems when testing indoors?!? I see a lot of bad reviews about radio reception. Looking around, it looks like a WS-2902C would be the closest candidate, but I have a few questions: I've been looking at the Accurite 5-in-1 stations, but I see a lot of complaints on review about the customer service (non-existent, almost). Naturally, it's hard to get all those attributes in a single product. External sensor should be readable by rtl_433 (SDR). Must be able to upload data to WU and others. Must connect to a display in the house (console). I've been doing a lot of research and reading reviews on this subject. Free web hosting.I'm looking to buy my first weather station (\o/). Low 5W power consumption eliminates expensive PC power consumptionĮasy to configure Web Interface (requires internet router) However, theĪirBridge is also wireless to your router, extending the range an additional 200 feet.
